Sleep Deeper, Recharge Faster with Delta-Sleep Inducing Peptide, Our Review of DSIP!

All of us humans, the proud early risers 🐓 and diehard night owls 🦉 seem to love to boast and complain about our sleep.

And whether your latest 5 am waking is something to brag about 💪🏼 or lament on 😩 today’s topic has something for you! 🛌

Because no matter the schedule we keep, to feel most rested, we need to increase the amount of time we spend in deep, delta sleep.

And the Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide (DSIP) is an excellent supplement to ensure we do!

Note: DSIP is non-prescription and is used by adults and children

(Skip down to Purchasing or Dosing info)

DSIP has been shown to improve sleep quality, increase the time spent in deep sleep, and reduce the time spent in light and REM sleep.

This peptide has helped us:

  • Sleep deeper
  • Fall asleep faster, combat insomnia (with higher dosing)
  • Sleep through the night or fall right back asleep after waking
  • Feel greater recharged even with less sleep and more!

And for me, fact that it doesn’t have side effects or risks that come with many other sleep aids is so important.

An AI generated a list of risks & effects is (here) if you want to check on anything you take.

Today’s video covers the need-to-know about Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide and how it’s helped us, immensely!

What is Delta / Slow wave Sleep?

During Delta sleep:

  • Heartbeat and breathing slow down
  • Blood pressure drops
  • Muscles relax
  • We respond less to external stimuli or loud noises
  • Brain waves slow significantly

Brain Wave Types and Ranges

Read more (here)

Deep Delta sleep is important for restoration of our body and brain including:

  • Consolidation of memories
  • Tissue and muscle repair, heart health
  • A healthy immune system
  • Improved hormonal balance & metabolism

Delta Sleep is age dependant:

  • Healthy people under 30 can get about 2 hours of delta sleep a night.
  • People over 65 or with chronic illness often only get 30 minutes.

What is DSIP?

• A naturally occurring peptide found throughout the body. It’s in especiallly high concentrations in breast milk. (R) – and we know how well that induces sleep!

• Composed of nine amino acids. it was first isolated in the 1970’s during sleep studies and found to improve sleep quality

Produced by the hypothalamus (released by the pituitary) and if inadequate, people can have insomnia or other sleep disorders

• Acts as a neuromodulator to influence sleep and relaxation processes

See our Peptides 101 for more on how peptides work in the body.

The DSIP we purchase replicates the molecular structure and is bioidentical to our natural DSIP.

Stick to trusted brands to ensure lab synthesis mirrors the natural peptide’s sequence and structure, and is confirmed by independent testing.

What can DSIP do?

Increase slow-wave (delta) sleep, the deepest and most restorative sleep phase

Help you feel noticeably more rested even with a shorter sleep duration

Help you stay asleep (falling asleep may require higher doses)

How Does DSIP Work?

Binds to GABA-B receptors in our brain which are responsible for reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation.

• Also regulates the production of cortisol (high cortisol from our adrenals affect sleep)

• By increasing delta wave sleep it also promotes our natural release of hormones associated with sleep – improving whole body wellness

• Its short half-life (approx 15 min) demonstrates it acts as a neuromodulator rather than a direct sedative

A Reddit generated summary

Primary benefits of DSIP

Many people are having great success with DSIP.

Improved Sleep Quality: DSIP enhances the duration and quality of slow-wave sleep. Studies show improved sleep efficiency and reduced nighttime awakenings in insomnia patients.

Reduced sleep latency (time to fall asleep) is dose dependent. At lower doses it’s primary strength is improving sleep efficiency.

Regulation of circadian rhythm and neuroendocrine pathways for better sleep consistency.

No risks: Taking anticholinergics such as Benadryl, Unisom (diphenhydramine) or many other Prescription and OTC Sleep medications carry dementia risks and other serious effects.

  • A list of side effects and risks for all other sleep aids is here.

A collection of DSIP studies can be found here.

Who Can DSIP Help?

• People with disrupted sleep, such as frequent night waking or feeling unrested despite enough hours or sleep apnea

• Those with stress or pain related sleep issues, as DSIP lowers cortisol and inflammation in the brain’s sleep centers.

• Anyone feeling the effects of aging on their sleep quality or with chronic insomnia

• Individuals seeking deeper, more restorative sleep without relying on sedatives

• Some doctors have reported benefits for seizures – reducing incidence, duration, and severity (Effective against metaphit-, picrotoxin-, and NMDA-induced convulsions.)

Much more on DSIP for Seizures and Autism specifically is in our post here.

Other Benefits of DSIP

Anti inflammatory: DSIP can reduce inflammation supporting countless pathways to wellness.

• Neuroprotection: Reduces loss of brain tissue and aids motor function recovery post-stroke

Pain Management: Exhibits analgesic properties, reducing nociception, which both directly alleviates pain and indirectly enhances sleep

Antioxidant and possible Anticarcinogenic Effects: Scavenges free radicals, protecting against oxidative stress, enhancing cellular health

Stress Reduction & Mood: Stress-protective effects by modulating physiological responses, reducing anxiety, contributing to a more refreshed state

Studies have shown DSIP levels may be altered in depressive disorders. Improved sleep alone can also help with depression too!

Our Experience with DSIP

In the video I tell my story and detailed observations but briefly ~

As night owls, my daughter and I have struggled with every sleep issue:

Insomnia, middle of night waking and even feeling very sluggish despite ‘sufficient’ hours of sleep.

Now we sleep more deeply AND stay asleep all thought the night

We wake up recharged and ready for the day, even with fewer actual hours of sleep!

I can sleep about 6 hours and feel completely recharged.

Also – zero late afternoon slumps!

•••

Recently, as a test, I stopped using DSIP and within a week I was right back to my usual poor sleep.

I woke several times in the night and the one day I managed to sleep 9 hours, I was still exhausted.

When I restarted DSIP, my sleep was excellent again, beginning the very first night and has continued since.

•••

For my daughter, it has helped her fall asleep faster and stay asleep even more than sleep medications have in the past.

Sleep related meds & supplements we have tried: Benadryl, Clonidine, Ramelteon, Doxepin, and of course every natural or herbal supplement available that even remotely promises improved relaxation or sleep.

Dosing for DSIP

Delta Sleep inducing Peptide is often taken:

• 1-2 sprays, 1 hour before bed

• Each spray is 50 mcg

Typical Sources cite dosing as +/- 150mcg, 1-3 hours before bed.

One study reported some had slight arousal in the first hour, followed by drowsiness beginning in the second hour after dosing.

Other people like to take it right before bed.

When I used 2.5 sprays (~125 mcg), I had sleep inertia the next morning – for me that was too much.

• After taking it for 4-5 nights, I can skip 1-2 nights without taking any and still sleep very well.

This is a peptide that we are pulse dosing not because it stops working, but rather because it works too well!

If you find you’re tired during the day after extended use, skip 1-2 days.

•••

*The Limitless product is more potent than Biolab, some have reported it’s too strong for them to use a full spray.

Experimenting is key to find your ideal dose and ideal timing!

To summarize:

Sublingual Use?

Yes! We have tried it and it works the same!

It can be sprayed into the mouth, aiming for under the tongue as much as possible.

We have found that even 1/2 spray sublingually (this is slightly more than 1 drop from an eye dropper) – works

I spray into a small cup, add a small bit of water and divide by 2 people

I try to hold it in my mouth for a while.

  • If you’re using a dropper, typically 2.5 drops ~ 1 spray (for reference)

Pulse dosing?

Some people pulse DSIP.

I used 1 spray (50mcg) for over a year without breaks (Biolab Brand).

Now I’m taking some short (1-2 day) breaks because the Limitless product is stronger and I don’t need it every night.

Alternatively, I can use 1/2 of a spray continuously.

• Some people use it just as needed or to reset their circadian rhythm.

• Others find that every other night is ideal.

You can do whatever suits your needs – experimentation encouraged!

Above is from Reddit – person taking 50 mcg. Perhaps more may have helped them sleep longer.

Where to Buy DSIP Nasal Spray

I recommend Limitless Biotech

We have used both their 99%+ lyophilized nasal and 98.5%

It’s 50 mcg per spray (use 1, maybe 2) sometimes we only use every other night, others dilute to 1/2 spray or use sublingual if it’s too strong.

https://www.limitlesslifenootropics.com/product/dsip-spray/

Their coupon code: QUALITY

– will give you 20% off all products.

(Also Free shipping for a limited time)

FAQ – yes, non-lyophilized is fine to use, we have used it and it works great!

• Also if you order the non-lyophilized version you do not need to reconstitute it with a syringe. You simply pull the pop tab off the water and pour it into the sprayer.

Biolab also sells DSIP

I used theirs first. It helped me recharge faster, but I never felt that it helped me fall asleep.

But – I never tried using two sprays and it seemed like their sprayer might put out less product.

It’s also 50 mcg per spray

https://biolabshop.eu/peptides-for-regeneration/202-dsip-spray-5mg-.html

Discount code: RESTORE

Note: most people in the United States receive it without issue, but a few have reported customs issues.

For help putting together your nasal spray

I’ll walk you through it.

It’s easy to do together and there are written instructions and a video here:

Reminder, if you order non-lyophilized, you don’t need to do this!

You will simply pull the pop tab off the water and pour into the spray bottle.

What Peptides stack well with DSIP?

For additional help with relaxation and sleep you can consider:

1. Pineal Gland Bioregulator Peptides

PinealPep (or Endoluten, Epitalon)

You will find the below at my review of PinealPep and the other Pineal Gland bioregulators here

and

2. Selank Nasal Spray

N-Acetyl-Selank Amidate peptide is excellent for reducing anxiety and has many other benefits.

It also helped me fall back asleep when I was awake with a restless mind during the time I was not taking DSIP.

It does not help me or my daughter fall asleep faster or recharge faster, but it’s benefits for anxiety can indirectly improve sleep.

•••

It’s a great one to pair with DSIP for anyone who is especially anxious or take on its own if you don’t have poor sleep but are anxious — I’m not sure many people fall not that category!

The best place to get it is from Limitless, so if you are purchasing DSIP and want to buy Selank, here’s the link:

https://www.limitlesslifenootropics.com/product/n-acetyl-selank-amidate-10ml/

The same code: QUALITY will get you free shipping (limited time) and 20% off (always).

My Selank blog post and video are here.

Peptides to NOT to take in the evening (with DSIP):

Cognition / Brain / CNS peptides (CogniPep, Pinealon, p21, Cereluten)

Adrenal bioregulators

These can be stimulating and should only be used in the early AM.

And if you have a hard time sleeping while taking any of them, consider taking less or pausing to observe.

* I saw mentioned by someone to take pinealon with DSIP. It can be mistaken for a pineal gland bioregulator but it is not.

Sleep deeper than your wildest dreams

If you’re tired of the side effects and risks from traditional sedatives, DSIP is definitely one to consider.

You too may find yourself recharging faster, falling asleep or back asleep faster and feeling more refreshed than ever before!

Thank you for being here, reading and watching!

And see you soon!
